Spiral Classifier

Spiral classifier plays a very important role in the grinding operation. The spiral classifier is used in conjunction with the ball mill to form a closed-loop circulation process in the mineral processing operation. The minerals that meet the particle size requirements are discharged from the flow channel end to the lower process flow as finished products, and the coarse sand returns to the ball mill for re-grinding. Spiral classifier is widely used in mineral processing plants.

Working Principle

Spiral Classifier
Material slurry enters the inclined trough, where coarse particles settle due to gravity. The rotating spiral continuously lifts settled coarse material upward for discharge, while fine particles overflow through a weir at the trough’s lower end. Adjusting the spiral speed or weir height controls classification precision and throughput.
